Hugh Ammundsen, Chairperson
Hugh has over 24 years experience in equity analysis and corporate finance. In 2001 Hugh established Doubtless Strategic Limited to provide independent financial and strategic consulting services, usually on a project by project basis. Hugh is married to Vicki and has two children, Louis (who has Asperger’s Syndrome) and Bronte and in his “spare time” enjoys working on his vineyard in the Far North.
Helen Milmine, Treasurer
Helen moved to NZ from England nine years ago, with her Kiwi husband Paul.They have two children, Luke, who is affected by autism, and Kim. Helen worked as an accountant for almost 30 years and currently works part time for YesAbility Centre on the North Shore. She also founded and runs the North Shore ASD Support Group. Helen joined the CAF Board, as she was very concerned about the lack of free or affordable services available to families raising children with ASD, and believes all children deserve the chance to be fully included in the education system, social activities, employment and life in general.
Ben Mills, Secretary
Ben currently works for YouthLaw Tino Rangatiratanga Taitamariki as their legal education coordinator. He delivers education sessions on youth rights and law to youth and adults across NZ. He was formally a secondary school teacher. Ben has an interest in protecting the needs of the vulnerable, and sees his service on the CAF Board as a logical and valuable extension of his legal education work.
Sharon McCook
Sharon has a background in management and business development in the health and disability sector. She currently works as Group Manager, Research Partnerships, for the Health Research Council of New Zealand.This role includes oversight of national and international programmes of health research with a broad range of stakeholders and partners from the public and not-for-profit sectors. Sharon has a passion for working to reduce inequalities for vulnerable population groups and is looking forward to making a contribution to the work of CAF and to family/whanau raising a child with ASD.

Children’s Autism Foundation’s vision is to see people with Autism living a great life, fully valued and included in society.
We are looking for a Board Member to join our dedicated team. The Board’s role is to determine the overall direction and development of the Foundation through good governance and clear strategic planning. Must be available to attend monthly Board meetings and email contact between meetings. Business acumen and an interest or experience within autism sector preferrable. This is a voluntary position.
