Our Board of Trustees
Jules Garland, Chairperson
Jules Garland was appointed Chairperson of the CAF Board of Trustees in September 2008.
Jules is mother to an 11 year old boy with autism and chose to serve on the Board after benefiting first-hand from our services in 2007. She was attracted to the philosophy of inclusion within the family and the family-centred support that was provided.
Jules has Bachelor Degrees in Psychology and Public Health / Health Promotion, and professional experience in Health Policy, Epidemiology and Research. She looks forward to assisting CAF to its goal of being known as the preferred Service of whanau and families of children with ASD.
Jeanne Warmington, Secretary
Jeanne has served as a Trustee for over two years.
Jeanne has a strong background in management and development roles in the Mental Health and Disability sectors. She currently works for Aotearoa New Zealand Association of Social Workers, as Membership Services Manager. Her particular interests include organisational development, increasing the value of an organisation’s human resources and working collaboratively.
Jeanne has a private practice in Supervision, which keeps her personally connected with client-focussed work.
Jeanne sees her contribution to CAF’s development as an opportunity to make a meaningful difference for family/whanau raising a child with ASD.
Nimfa Uy, Treasurer
Nimfa joined the Board of Trustees in July 2008.
Nimfa is a Chartered Accountant, originally from the Philippines, who has been living and working in Auckland for the past six years. She has extensive experience serving in governance positions, with a variety of large international service organisations.
Nimfa’s niece was recently diagnosed with Autism and she has committed to helping her family, and others, find the support and information they need to thrive. Her contribution of skills and professional expertise are of great value to CAF.
Claire Piper, Trustee
Claire joined the Board of Trustees in January 2009.
Claire recently completed her Bachelor of Arts and Law Degree and currently works in Immigration Services with the Department of Labour. She has a strong commitment to making a difference to those in need in society and was previously involved in voluntary work at university/student union level.
CAF’s work has inspired Claire. She’s witnessed our passion for assisting people with ASD and is looking forward to contributing her skills to advance our mission.
