This is our holistic ‘hands on’ outreach service, led by family’s/whanau’s priorities and values with guidance from a trained and experienced staff member. Your family can access this service when your child has been recently diagnosed with ASD, but is also available during those difficult transition periods. Intensity of your family’s involvement depends on your specific needs, from fortnightly home visits, regular phone calls to participation in our workshops, Parents Exchange, Skills Through Play, as well as access to our Goldminds Resource Library.
Our service focuses on empowering parents, providing coping and behavioural strategies and fostering family resilience. We provide families with an action plan that helps achieve goals, in the short term and long term.
The Shine Family Support Programme is a fully funded programme, so families can access this service free of charge.
