the SHINE Family Support programme

The SHINE programme is our intensive service to guide you on your journey understanding Autism Spectrum Disorder and managing the impact this has on family life.

Most families are typically involved in the SHINE Family Support Programme for a period of six, or during transition periods. Some families require support beyond this period, and the programme is fluid and flexible to accommodate this.

During this time, our fieldworker provides fortnightly, two-hour consultations in your home. One-on-one support is complemented with a variety of monthly support groups and skills workshops involving other families. The nature, intensity and duration of our involvement are guided by the family’s values, needs and priorities.

The SHINE Family Support Programme is comprised of three flexible modules, which are provided in their entirety or in part, depending on your expressed individual areas of need;
Phase 1 Information and service navigation
Phase 2 Understanding inclusion, interaction and communication
Phase 3 Sustainable solutions
