Drop In Family Support – Wed 15th July – Otara

Parents/caregivers/whanau… drop in and join our Family Consultant Emma  Bartlett and team for a cuppa and a biscuit at Te Puke o Tara.

This relaxed session is a great opportunity to for parents, family/whanau and caregivers to ask questions, share your experiences and meet other families with children on the Autism Spectrum.  Make an appointment for a one-on-one session with Emma or just enjoy a cuppa with others while your children play.

DROP IN SESSIONS Q&A’s
Should I bring my child to this session?  You are welcome to attend with or without your child.
Can I bring my other children to this session?  Yes, the whole family/whanau is welcome, we have a big toybox to keep younger children busy!
Does my child need to have an Autism diagnosis? Yes, these sessions are provided to whanau of children who have been diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder.  However, you are welcome to make come along if your child is currently on the pathway to diagnosis.
What is a drop-in session?  This is a chance for you to meet other families with a child on the Autism Spectrum.  Drop in anytime between 9.30am and 1.30pm for a cuppa and a chat.  We’ll have some toys for the little ones and plenty of tea, coffee and biscuits for everyone.
Can I make an appointment? Yes, you can book a 30 minute session with our Family Consultant Emma Bartlett (booking form below).
What can I expect from this appointment? This session is an opportunity for you to discuss any issues or challenges that you may be facing as a parent or caregiver of a child with Autism.  Our Family Consultant may be able to provide you with information, tips, tools and strategies to enable you to better support your child and whanau at home, at school and in the community.
Is there a charge for this session? No, thanks to support from the Otara-Papatoetoe Local Board, this session is provided free to whanau/caregivers.  However, as we are a charity, your donation/koha is always greatly appreciated and enables us to provide support to other families across Auckland, Northland and the Waikato.
