Westfield Sensitive Santa

This Christmas everyone gets to enjoy some time with Santa!

Children’s Autism Foundation is proud to support Sensitive Santa at Westfield Malls across Auckland this Christmas season.

Westfield are offering a Sensitive Santa experience so that families can visit their Christmas wonderland and have their photo taken in a relaxed environment.  Westfield’s Sensitive Santa sessions are specially tailored to children with autism and anyone with sensory challenges who might find a conventional Santa a little overwhelming.

These calm and comfortable photography sessions are run before stores open, when the centre is quieter, to create a relaxed and sensory-friendly Santa experience.

With a booked time slot and no need to wait in a queue, families can take their time to enjoy their moment with Santa.

During your session, please let the Westfield team know if there’s anything they can do to help make your experience easier and they will accommodate any special requests as best they can.

To get a feel for the experience, we hope you enjoy the short film below that tells the story of one family’s experience with Sensitive Santa. Westfield and our own Family Consultant Arletta van den Bosch has also developed a social story to help children with autism understand what they might expect from a Sensitive Santa visit.
