Join in Junior

Join In Junior, our weekly playgroup for 3 to 6 year olds, started at the beginning of term 2.

We have 5 lovely families coming every week, some with their siblings and starting to get used to the environment, the routine, equipment and staff.

Circle time

circle time

At the playgroup we try to establish a highly structure first hour of the session, to practise sitting at mat/circle time, transitioning from one activity to the next and trying out new things (arts/ toys/ obstacle course etc). Our goal is for the children to be able to participate as independent as possible at kindergarten, daycare and later school.

In those few sessions, it is great to see that the children are happy to come and join in, try new things and parents able to relax and enjoy spending time with their children.

If you’re interested in our playgroup, please send me an email: elisa@autism.org.nz
